There are labels included so you can organize them by skill. This reading strategy works really well with new and non-readers because their texts allow for it. ♥BEST DEAL- Decoding Strategy Task Card Bundle The Eagle Eye reading strategy is about using picture clues to figure out the unknown word. Tryin’ Lion: Try another strategy Slow Down Snail: Slow down if it doesn’t seem right Check It, Chicks: Make sure it looks right, sounds right, and makes sense. ♥ Eagle Eye ♥ - Students will read the sentence and use the picture clue to read the underlined word or words. Eagle Eye: Check the picture Flip the Dolphin: flip the vowel sound. →More complex sentences with long vowels, irregular vowels, and multisyllabic words →Simple sentences with short vowels, high frequency words, and sight words. Get students checking the picture to figure out unknown words when reading!
